Pretty Paper
Here is an example of stunning paper engineering. I am a big fan of paper artists and these intricate designs remind me of a project i did whilst at my first year of university. I started creating shapes and letters with swirls of paper held with paper clips but didn't go in to nearly as much detail as these. This work makes me wich i'd stuck at that project!
This peice is by Yulia Brodskaya, a russian designer. there are more lovely examples of her work on her website.
Ceramic Type
It's a beautiful spring day here and I'm in the mood for blogging. I havn't had a chance to post anything in a wee while as I have been annoyingly busy at work!
I now have a chance and have been meaning to post this gorgeous ceramic work from an American artist called Stephanie DeArmond. I love typography and sculpture so these pieces tick all my boxes!

Plate decoration
I had to post this cool plate design. Its by an artist/illustrator who calls herself Krisatomic. She has a few different designs for sale at her etsy shop. They are apparently very safe to eat off of and dishwasher proof which is always good to know. They are a little pricey but are one offs so I think that's fair enough. If I had the money I would probably just buy one and put it on my bedroom wall...its so pretty!

Holga love
I have just purchased my first Holga and can't wait to use it!
I chose the 120 FN model with a built in flash as i don't have my own flash gun. I did my research and have seen so many gorgeous images that this old camera has produced, I just had to have one.
It is a back to basics camera, it uses 120 film, and is almost entirely made of plastic (lens included). It is famous for its rich, vintage looking shots with a few light leaks and some vignetting thrown in aswel.
I will once again have to take my film in to be processed and wait with anticipation to see if there are any little gems, sounds great! It is in the post to me as i write this, i'll update you when it arrives and can't wait to post some holga-tastic pics!

Paris discovery
I was recently in Paris with my Mum. I had taken her as a surprise for her birthday (I won't disclose her age!). I have been to this gorgeous city twice before but manage to discover something amazing each time.
I don't think I'll tire of visiting it....ever.
This image is of one of those discoveries. I took this with my new Lumix digital camera in Sainte-Chapelle, located on the Ile de la Cite. I had never heard of this awesome place but my Mum insisted we visit as we were passing by and it's somewhere she had dreamed of seeing. It is hidden away, near the famous Notredam Cathedral, located within the Palais de Justice complex. From the outside the chapel looks lovely, its gothic architecture is striking but to be honest It looked like a few other churches so I wasn't ready to be impressed by the interior. We joined the very small queue for our tickets and entered the chapel. We climbed a few very narrow stairs and when we reached the upper chapel I was hit by an overload of light, colour, and detail......WOW! The 15 giant stained glass windows dominate the room, they are barely visible from the exterior of the Chapel.
I won't go in to more detail, it has to be seen to be believed, trust me. It was my highlight of our weekend.I am not a religious person and you don't have to be to appreciate the craftmanship that went into this structure.
